Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers recently announced the indictments of Qasseem Dixon, 25, Ryan Brown, 27, and Demario Williams, 22.

Brown was indicted for one count of aggravated murder (SF), one count of murder (SF) and three counts of felonious assault (F2). If convicted of all charges, he faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Dixon was indicted for one count of aggravated murder (SF), one count of murder (SF), three counts of felonious assault (F2), two counts of having weapons under disability (F3), and one count of tampering with evidence (F3). If convicted of all charges, he faces a maximum possible sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Williams was indicted for one count of tampering with evidence (F3), one count of obstructing justice (F3), one count of carrying concealed weapons (F4), one count of vehicular assault (F4) and one count of failure to stop after an accident (F5). If convicted of all charges, he faces a maximum possible sentence of 10 years in prison.

On July 10, Dixon and Brown allegedly drove to Plainfield Road in Silverton. The suspects allegedly fired approximately 28 shots into a home, where an adult and two 9-year-olds were inside.

One 9-year-old was grazed by a bullet, but survived the injuries.

The other 9-year-old was struck by a bullet in the chest. First responding deputies attempted lifesaving measures, which continued until Deer Park Fire arrived on scene. The child was transported to Jewish Hospital and pronounced deceased.

Upon investigation of the crime scene, numerous shell casings were located in the roadway and yard in front of the house. Investigators from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department located both 9mm and .762 shell casings at the scene.

During the course of the investigation, suspects were developed and were placed under surveillance.

On July 11, Williams was allegedly observed by plain-clothes officers placing a rifle bag in the trunk of his vehicle before driving away with Dixon in the vehicle. While under surveillance, Williams allegedly left the scene at a high rate of speed – running a red light and crashing into another car. The operator of the other vehicle was seriously injured.

Williams and Dixon then allegedly fled on foot. While fleeing, Dixon allegedly discarded a loaded 9mm hand gun.

Police also allegedly located a loaded SKS rifle in Williams’ trunk. Both firearms were later determined to have allegedly been used in the Plainfield Road shooting.
