West Suffolk Hospital has received a donation of a special vest meant to aid lymphedema and lipoedema patients.
Lymphedema Support Suffolk (LSS) presented the garment to the Bury St Edmunds hospital’s Lymphedema Service at a meeting on June 5.
Lymphedema is caused by clogging lymph fluid in the body, resulting in swelling and pain for sufferers.
The bio vest and sleeve compression garment is attached to a compression pump.
This eases the swelling caused by lymph fluid build-ups, providing the wearer relief.
Bury Rotary Club enabled the donation with a £500 contribution to the LSS, and the vest itself was purchased by My WiSH, the hospital's own charity.
